York & 23rd is a collaboration of house music producers DJ Fuel and Sabro. The duo have been working together since 2015 releasing remixes and a number of original songs, which not only gained the attention of DJs like EDX, Treasure Fingers & Stonebridge but also earned the boys commercial airplay on NXFM (now Hit106.9), Hedkandi Radio, Radio Metro and Raw FM.
When they first met in a Nelson Bay bar DJ Fuel was already a seasoned veteran of the industry, the experience that SAE student Sabro was eager to learn from, and after striking up a conversation over mutual musical influences the pair decided to jump into the studio together.
Four songs and countless gigs later York & 23rd are now ready for the next phase in their music, elevating their signature house style with a new layer of original vocals. Their new track ‘Do You Think About Me’ is out on November 13 on Pumping Records

We originally started this song back in 2018 and finished a demo version of it only a few short studio sessions, (think we spent more time at our favourite chicken shop than working on the song). All that was missing was the vocal & that took the longest part. We reached out to a few songwriters/vocalists, but unfortunately, they were not what we were looking for.
Whilst working at day job at a Central Coast radio station, George (one half of Y&23) asked one of his colleagues Kalun Townsend (who is the band Gold Blum) what he thought about writing some lyrics to the project which had been sitting on the shelf for a while. To our amazement he sent us a demo a few days later of just the 1st verse and an idea for the chorus and… WE LOVED IT, we organised a day to all jump in the studio to finish it off and after a few sessions we had Do You Think About Me? Ready to go but nowhere to release it.
It has been 4 years since we released our last batch of music, not from lack of motivation or material but more so looking for the right label to partner to release our music with. After releasing some originals and working on a few more remixes we found ourselves wanting to be involved in the creative process that ensued the release date and with George starting his own label & managing a few other artists we both decided that Pumping Records would be the right fit for us to release Do You Think About Me.
